Welcome to Music To Grow On Music Therapy Services in the greater Sacramento California area. Offering contracted and private services for clinic based and in-home sessions for families with special circumstances. Music To Grow On, Music Therapy Services is committed to using music in helping children with special needs reach their fullest potential. Music Therapy applies the inherent qualities of music to reach non-musical goals including the areas of cognitive functioning, academic skills, behavior, motor skills, communication, sensory-motor skills, social skills, and emotional expression. Activities and interventions can enhance daily experiences and assist in the generalization of skills. Music Therapy provides avenues, which enhance communication skills, increase self-confidence, and improve agility and motor responses. Music Therapy provides the brain with organized, methodical, and sensory input, which calms the brain and enables it to increase cognitive functioning and sensory integration. Music To Grow On exclusively provides individual music therapy services to children with a vast scope of needs, ranging from mild to severe. Our clients range in age from zero to twenty two, with many in early intervention, ages zero to three. Clients served have various diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, speech delay, traumatic brain injury, developmental delays, visual impairments, hearing impairments, genetic disorders, seizure disorders and physical disabilities. Treatment is provided both in client homes and in the clinic. Currently, over 125 clients are being served on a weekly basis. Currently, 225 clients are being served on a weekly basis. In addition to individual services, Music To Grow On contracts with Bowling Green Charter School to provide Music Therapy in each of their four classrooms with students with orthopedic challenges. Music To Grow On employs ten Board Certified Music Therapists who hold a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Music Therapy. Five out of the ten therapists have received additional training in Neurologic Music Therapy. Music To Grow On plans to expand to employ at least three additional therapists by the beginning of 2009. With ten Board Certified Music Therapists on staff, each therapist provides a different outlook on methods of incorporating music to address a variety of goals for a variety of needs.
