Amy O'Dell MT-BC

Amy O'Dell (Board Certified-Music Therapist) graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Music Therapy in April of 2010. While in college, she completed practicum work in various settings including cross-categorical pre-school class rooms, severely multiply impaired classrooms for both young adults and pre-schoolers, an acute psychiatric setting, a chronic psychiatric home for adults with schizophrenia, and one-on-one sessions with children with cognitive impairments. She was the student music therapist for the SPLASH summer camp, associated with the Autism Collaborative Center, for pre-schoolers with an Autism Spectrum Disorder in August of 2009. Amy completed her internship with Music To Grow on under the direction of Bessie Barth and the supervision of Kimberly Smith-Ensign. From May 2010-May 2011, Amy worked for Ferraro Behavior Services, LLC in Fort Wayne, IN, serving adolescents and adults with developmental disabilities in a one-on-one setting. While here, her case load consisted of individuals with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down Syndrome, Prader-Willi Syndrome, Smith-Maginis Syndrome, and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Amy will be starting graduate school in the fall at California State University- Sacramento to obtain a teaching credential in Special Education. She is also the secretary for BRIGHT Children International.
