For school age children: Contact your Program Specialist via phone and in writing requesting a Music Therapy assessment to explore if Music Therapy would aid in meeting the needs of your child.  Give specifics as to why you believe it would benefit your child.  The school district will make a referral to a Music Therapy agency to complete the assessment.  Families are not allowed to request a specific vendor, this is the decision of the school districts.   After an assessment is completed, an addendum IEP will be be completed to discuss the findings before ongoing services can commence.  Not all school districts support Music Therapy services, but Music To Grow On can work with you to pursue services.  Music To Grow On is a certified Non-Public Agency through the State of California to work in any of the local school districts.
